What to believe????
Believing something that I haven’t seen with my own eyes has always been something that has been questionable for me. Science being the exception. With science I just have to trust that the scientist is competent.
You see, a historian keeping records could perceive their sightings very differently from how another might perceive it. That’s a conflict for me. Who do I believe?
When Donald Trump was President of our country, he claimed that the major news channels were, as he labeled it “fake news”. Fake news or not ….it was never a big issue for me because I stopped watching the news years ago bc it depressed me. I would rather be ignorant than depressed.
However, I started listening to Crime Podcasts. I know what you are thinking, how more depressing can you get? I cant really explain the difference as to why one verse the other gets me depressed. I can only imagine its the story behind the crime. I’m getting all of the details and theres justice for the victim. The news is not getting any of those details and theres never a good ending. But this wasn't the point I wanted to make. Someone was telling me about another podcast that was not a crime based podcast that I thought I would give it a try. While listening there were two podcasters speaking in conversation about timelines of events. Events I was actually around for …. Something to do with “fake news” and the timing of it. They commented that it started during COVID and this is half true, but I know for a fact that Trump started it during his campaign for President. And this is a perfect example as to why I have such a hard time believing what others say. I mean here we are, on a platform, for the world to hear, spilling fraudulent information. They weren’t trying to hide something or be deceitful in any way. It was just that they legitimately forgot when it started. And because I happened to be paying attention during that time period, I know that their information going out to the world is incorrect. The podcast was Joe Rogan’s, so its not like it was a no name podcast.
Im just saying the world has changed so much in my eyes or maybe it’s my eyes that have changed. This is something that I think is a half and half situation.
Either way, Im going to try and stay in my bubble the best I can, for as long as I can. Ive got a lot on reserve from my younger crazier years to pull from if I ever feel the need..
Sending you my best.
